HippoCap is a case and fashion accessory that can be worn on the head to protect secondary memory discs.
The fact that humans, whose memory is gradually deteriorating due to technology dependence, install even auxiliary disks on their heads and rely on technology suggests that human nature is lost.
Additionally, through the process of transforming the case to protect such auxiliary disks into fashion accessories, I want to reveal the irony of humanity’s dependence on technology.
Does the externalization of memory expand or shrink our memories and identities?
We often perceive ourselves as the ‘sum of memories’.
However, if the memory is converted into a simple data file and stored in an external device, can the memory still be ‘us’?
